For people who don't want an alert per change, the daily digest collects everything into a single email that lands in the morning, grouped by topic. It's the default, so a new hire isn't buried the day they join. The time-sensitive things still come the moment they happen — a leave decision, being picked for an open shift — because some news shouldn't wait until tomorrow. And anything someone turns off entirely still shows up in the bell, so turning down email never means missing what happened.
